Buyer Tip — Infrared range is what limits night coverage, not resolution. This is the most useful thing to understand when specifying a camera for a deep position. At night your camera sees exactly as far as its infrared reaches, and no further — beyond that there is simply no light for the sensor to work with. Adding megapixels does not extend that in any way. If you have a position where the far end disappears into black on your current system, the fix is a longer IR range, which is precisely what this model provides.
Buyer Tip — Long IR and identification distance are different things. Worth being clear about, because the two get conflated. Infrared reach determines how far the camera can see at night. Can it identify someone at the far end of the IR range?

No — and this is an important distinction. Infrared range is how far the camera can see. Identification distance is set by the lens and sensor, and on a wide 2.8 mm lens it is much shorter. Do bullet cameras really get spider webs?

Yes, and it is the most common complaint about them in Australia. The sunshade and body give spiders anchor points, and a web across the lens reflects infrared straight back at night, producing white blur or repeated false triggers.
